Mr. Danskin graduated in 1971 from the Civil Engineering Technology program at Santa Rosa Junior College and attended continuing education courses/seminars his entire career.
Mr. Danskin’s surveying career began in 1971 with the firm of Engineering Field Services, successors to Oglesby, Jacob & Wickham a historical Marin County surveying/engineering firm. While at the employ of Engineering Field Services, he was a computer-draftsman and field surveyor. A notable assignment was calculations for plotting Tunnel-Laser targets employed during construction of the Washington, D.C. Metro underground tunnels.
From 1974 to 1988 Mr. Danskin worked for and managed a highly respected surveying corporation in San Rafael, California – Joseph Grippi & Associates, Inc. One notable project was a geodetic survey, (before GPS technology), in the San Francisco Bay area for the U.S. Coast Guard to determine if Loran C navigation could safely bring in a Supertanker into the San Francisco Bay. A NOAA survey vessel affirmed their concerns of navigation accuracy.
Danskin obtained his a Land Surveyor In Training certificate (#761) 14 July 1976. Subsequently, became a Board certified Land Surveyor (#LS 4794) 19 March 1980.
In 1986, Danskin taught a Plane Surveying course at Solano Junior College’s Kennedy Center in Vallejo.
Phillip A. Danskin & Associates was established in 1987 and later became Danskin-Sanfilippo & Associates, Inc.
Danskin placed first in the 1995 National Society of Professional Land Surveyors Boundary/Cadastral Mapping competition.
Danskin & Sanfilippo, (his son), placed first in the 1998 National Society of Professional Land Surveyors Topographic Mapping competition.
Danskin is a volunteer at the Marin County Library Map Room at the Anne T. Kent annex. He also researched and wrote a biography of W. Gordon Voorhies the surveyor of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Mr. Sanfilippo graduated in 1992 from the Civil Engineering Technology program at Santa Rosa Junior College and like his father attends continuing education courses/seminars over his entire career.
Dominic’s surveying career began in 1990 working part-time for Joseph Grippi &Associates, Inc., (San Rafael, CA), and surveying with his father since 1986.
Sanfilippo obtained his a Land Surveyor In Training certificate (#ZL 5035) 1993. Subsequently, became a Board certified Land Surveyor (#LS 9315) 2016.
Mr. Sanfilippo placed first in the 1998 National Society of Professional Land Surveyors Topographic Mapping competition; has been supervisor draftsman of Phillip A. Danskin & Associates and Danskin-Sanfilippo & Associates, Inc., since 1996; has been surveyor Party-Chief since 1999; is a most competent operator of various types of GPS equipment together with field/office procedures.
From 2018 to 2022, Mr. Sanfilippo was Treasurer of the Marin Chapter of the California Land Surveyors Association (CLSA); from 2023 to present, Mr. Sanfilippo is Secretary of the Marin Chapter of CLSA as well as a member of CLSA since 1992.
Dominic has been a volunteer, data-basing the historical map archives of J.C. Oglesby located at the Kent Annex of the Marin County Free Library since 2019 and is a competent researcher of those records.
